If you have children under age 18, it’s not too late to claim the 2021 Child Tax Credit, even if you don’t usually file taxes. Be sure to file a 2021 tax return in 2022 to claim the credit, which is worth $3,600 per child under age 6 and $3,000 per child aged 6-17. Learn more here.
If you earned less money in 2020 than you did in 2019, you are allowed to use your 2019 earnings to calculate your 2020 EITC. Be sure to have your 2019 earnings total available when you file your 2020 return.
The same thing will be true when you file your taxes for 2021. Make sure you have your 2019 earnings total when you file your 2021 return as well.
If you were eligible for the EITC for 2018 and/or 2019, it’s not too late to file your taxes to claim those credits.
